Over the last few weeks I’ve been liquidating some unused assets so I could purchase some audio recording gear. It’s not a cheap hobby and since it has always been an interest of mine (I’ve even written about it here before) I thought it was about time to take the plunge. For several years I’ve been wanting a way to record the songs and ideas that I’ve written so I don’t forget them. In the end I ended up with the following equipment:
- M-Audio MobilePre USB Audio Interface
- M-Audio Nova condensor microphone
- Behringer V-Amp Pro Guitar Processor
- 2 Boom Microphone Stands
- 2 high quality instrument cables
So now, after a vocal recording session with my brother Mitchell I’ve finished my first song! It’s called One More Day (9.7Mb MP3 File) and I’m offering it here for download to anyone who’s interested. If you do listen, I’d love your feedback. You can post it as a comment on this thread. You can download the mp3 version of One More Day here. If you’re interested in some of the production methods that I used, what effects/setting were used I’ll be posting more on that later.
I’m working on recording some others now but I’ve got enough other things going on that I don’t quite have the time to get them done quickly. Hopefully within a couple of weeks I’ll post a few more songs.
