Kitchen cabinets after 3rd coat
We’ve got the 3rd coat of paint on and the avocado green is officially gone! We also picked up a base cabinet that will be the support for the new L shaped countertop that we’ll have in the middle of the kitchen.

Kitchen cabinets after 2nd coat
After the second coat and with all of the doors closed.

Kitchen Cabinets after 2nd coat
2 coats of paint on the cabinets and thing are really starting to look up! The kitchen has rounded the corner and we’re getting close to the home stretch.

Kitchen Cabinets after 1st Coat

Kitchen work continues
The next part of the project involved scraping all of the paneling glue off the walls and smoothing them out with join compound. At the same time we also took all of the cabinet doors off and filled the holes from the previous handles to prep them for paint and new handles.

The Work Begins: Kitchen
All of the paneling and wallpaper are down and we’ve ripped up the ugly vinyl floor.

The Work Begins: Kitchen
The first thing we did was start ripping out the paneling that covered all the walls in the kitchen. There was also a bit of wallpaper but it was a nicer variety that had an almost cloth-like feel and came off in large sheets.

Kitchen
This is what the kitchen looked like when we moved in. Not horribly dirty or anything but extremely outdated and dark.
