This park is one for the books! Beautiful views out in the middle of the country, very nice concrete pads, a dark park and several playgrounds, a pond! This has been a truly great stay for us.
This park will probably be most remembered by the time we spent with family here. On several occasions family came out and we spent time chatting around the fire. Crys’ mom even stayed the night with us a few times.
Of course Lil and I also spent plenty of time outside and down at the dog park and playground, which is to be expected almost daily, but there are a couple of memories I’ll take away from being in Alvarado.
The Cigars International lounge
I regret that I didn’t know about this place sooner! Cigars International is one of the largest cigar brands in the world and also happens to own CigarBid.com, one of the sites where I get most of my cigars. Imagine my surprise when a friend of mine posted on Facebook about visiting their lounge in Fort Worth! I had to check it out immediately. I was blown away as soon as I walked through the doors. Huge lounge/bar and by far the largest selection of cigars I’ve seen anywhere.
One of the downsides of buying cigars on auction sites it you’re limited to larger quantities for the most part. Now I can try all of the cigars to see if I like them before buying online. Love it!
I went back a few days later and spent several hours sitting by the fire and having a few drinks. Got to try a few new cigars as well. Crys and I even spent a date night there one night. It’s one of my new favorite places.
We’re 16 days away from hitting the road for Florida and the excitement is building pretty quickly. We’re staying at an RV park near my family for a couple of weeks before moving to Fort Wilderness for the majority of our stay. We also managed to get Disney World annual passes so we’re in the middle of trying to get reservations for restaurants.
We’ll be doing a week-long layover somewhere between here and Florida, but we haven’t booked a park for that stop yet.
